The World Health Organization (W.H.O.) states that there are over 1 billion disabled people globally, with 17% of the world population affected by blindness or visual impairment and 6% affected by deafness or hearing impairment (Wagner, 2021). The conditions of hearing loss result in one becoming Deaf or hard-of-hearing (HoH). It is also estimated that eighty (80%) percent of people living with a disability (P.W.D.) live in developing countries, and 90% of children living with a disability in developing countries are not in school (Marchildon, 2018). In Ghana, research shows that P.W.D. account for 3.7% of the population (Seidu et al., 2021, as cited in Ghana Disability Data, 2018). It is estimated that by 2050 over 700 million people or one in every ten people will have disabling hearing loss (Wagner, 2021). This explains the need for society to know more about the Deaf and how to relate with them. This app is focused on fostering communication amongst members of the Deaf/HoH community and the hearing. SignWithMe is an inclusive system for learning the Ghanaian sign language by the hearing and the hearing-Impaired/Deaf/HoH. This aims at minimizing or eradicating the communication barrier between the Deaf/HoH and hearing as well as educating the Ghanaian community on the Ghanaian sign language.
